Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Scholarships for International Students

The Scholarship Department of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung awards Masters and Ph.D. scholarships to highly-qualified foreign students who wish to undertake studies in Germany. They should be individuals demonstrating a high degree of political and social participation.

Target group: International students from all around the world. Preference has been given to women, students of non-academic and migrant backgrounds, the socially destitute, and individuals with disabilities, with achievement and commitment.

The scholarship for global students is in the form of a dwelling grant, for the length of the standard study programme interval. Tuition fees for international students are not covered.

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung’s Scholarship Department provides scholars a wide selection of support, consisting of political education events and summer schools, workshops conducted both domestically in addition to overseas, symposia and educational trips. • MA Students have to be enrolled at a country or state-recognized German university
• PhD students must be accepted at a German universit

The selection criteria are:

• High scholarly and professional qualifications (proof of above-average academic accomplishment at school and/or university)
• Political and social engagement in line with the aims of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung
• German language proficiency (B2 level or above).
• Personal/family background

Application instructions:

Application for scholarships are done on line. The application deadline is 1 October 2020 for grants starting in the summer semester of the following season (1 April 2021) or 1 April 2021 for grants beginning in the winter semester of the exact same year (1 October 2021).
